The Council has contracted Cory Environmental (01702 617766/ Email: mssouthend@coryenvironmental.co.uk ) to provide a garden waste re-cycling scheme, which takes the waste and composts it.

The service will not take non-vegetable matter, contaminated matter, or some larger ‘woody material’, which may need to be collected using their bulky items service, which is the same number as above.

You can of course take your garden waste to either of the Council’s two disposal sites at Leigh Marshes, or Stock Road.

Better still, why not set-up your own composter. Suppliers for composters of garden waste and kitchen waste may be found easily by going to the Green Ideas/Sites page within this website.
