Our Aims

We want to build back ‘Community’ into our area.
Due to getting together over the last 7 years, a great many people, from neighbouring streets, who did not previously know each other, now stop and talk and socialise, instead of passing by as strangers.

This recognition of area neighbours is gradually building a stronger bond and confidence between us all, and is being noticed by others who live here, or visit here. On quite a few occasions now, there has been the sight of ‘knots of neighbours’, standing laughing and talking outside their homes, and also talking with visitors and other ‘passing strangers’.
The community is slowly building, against the ‘social norm’ of isolation.
In talking, we are also finding out more about each other, and our worries and wishes, which we are mutually trying to answer for each other through our casual personal meetings, and through our liaison and co-operation with the many people who govern for us and who are our representatives.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful,
concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed,
its the only thing that ever has" (Margaret Mead)
